Thomas Turner moved from London to Reading in 1838 eventually opening two more shops, one in Newbury and one in Basingstoke.

The Reading shop was the last remaining shop and Jack Stratton was the proprieter until handing over the business to his sons Peter and Michael. Jack was one of the last true multi-talented gunmakers. Turners had their own Shooting school up until it closed in the mid 80's. The school was run by Jack's son, Peter Stratton. Turners developed the famous flush which they operated at many game fairs it was then known as the “ Turners Team Shoot ” and to this day it is one of the most exciting forms of clay shooting.

Turners moved to Gosbrook Rd, Caversham in 1984 under the management of Peter Stratton and continue to be proud of their expertise and service.
